Work your way onto the A69 to Newcastle and stay on this road till you reach the A1. Now head north on the A1 till you reach the junction with the A696 and the A167.

You will need to turn right onto the A167 and travel down this road until it becomes the A167 M. Just after it changes to this road is the turn off for the A1058, take this road and follow it right the way down to the sea front.

At this roundabout turn left, follow the coast for about 2 miles and you will see the Esplanade Hotel on the left hand side, just past the tennis courts.
