From where ever you are in the country north of Newcastle you will need to work your way to the A1 and once on this road head South till you reach the turn off for the A19.

You will need to stay on this road till you reach the junction with the A1058 to Tynemouth, once on this road follow it right down to the seafront roundabout.

At this roundabout turn left, follow the coast for about 2 miles and you will see the Esplanade Hotel on the left hand side, just past the tennis courts.
